The budget meeting of the Bethany township board was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Supervisor Long.
Fowler read over the budget and asks if anyone had any concerns or questions, there were no township residents present.
The regular monthly meeting of the board was called to order by Supervisor Long at 7:00 p.m.
All members of the board were present. There were no guests.
Minutes were read and approved. Bills were read by Fowler motion to pay the bills by Humm 2nd by Morris motion carried.
Motion to accept the budget for year ending 3/31/2014 was entered by Humm 2nd by Mikek motion carried.
Hall is in need of a roof Long will get some bids and report back to the board.
Long reported that trooper Cisco had contacted him in the Dan Mikek blight tire case and that he had not complied with the cleanup plan so Long will tell them to serve him per the board’s request.
Long also attended the fire board meeting and they have purchased the land for the new fire hall at the cost of $75,000.00. Long also told us that the expected cost of the new building is 1.2 million dollars, it will be interesting to see how that goes.
Mikek requested that we set the public hearing for the Powell fabrication tax exemption at the next township board meeting this was 2nd by Humm.
Long and Mikek signed the brine and gravel contracts with the Gratiot county road commission.
Jack Willman had no permits or no report.

Regular meeting called to order by Long
Members present Long, Fowler, Mikek, Morris Absent member Humm
Consumers Energy representatives Nowlin and Kulis were at the meeting to renew the electric franchise agreement between the township and Consumers energy. The documents known as ordinance number 1-2013 were signed and will be published in the Saginaw Valley Shopper. Motion to accept the franchise agreement by Morris and 2nd by Fowler motion carried.
Minutes were read and approved and the bills were read motion to pay the bills by Morris 2nd by Mikek motion carried.
Next township meeting will be held on March 13 at 6 for the budget and regular meeting at 7.
Fowler went over the budget in detail and the income statements for the township.
Long spoke about the re graveling the roads with the road commission suggestions of the gravel placement maps.
Morris reported he attended the Waste Management meeting and they would like to speak to the residents and the board about the possibility of going to trash containers instead of bags. Morris will try to get a representative here for the May meeting.
Willman reported that he did a land division for Benny Bobzien. Motion to accept the land division by Fowler and 2nd by Mikek motion carried.
Willman also wrote a permit for Richard Prestage for and addition to a pole barn.
Morris brought up that members who do not attend meetings should not receive full pay in the month of the absences he will check out what other townships do and report back.
